Q. DO I EVEN NEED TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING MY CHIMNEY SWEPT?

Q. WHAT DOES A SWEEP ENTAIL, AND DO YOU ISSUE A SWEEP CERTIFICATE?
It's not just a sweep; every job gets a thorough safety check, and your open fire/appliance receives a Type Two smoke test to ensure draught and adequate smoke evacuation. Insurance approved certificate provided with a 12 month life.
Q. DO YOU MAKE A MESS, AM I REQUIRED TO CLEAR THE ROOM BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL?
No, those days are long gone thankfully! Modern sweeping is all about sealing up the appliance or flue and making no mess. I also use a three-stage HEPA vacuum to ensure all soot and ash are safely removed.
Q. HOW LONG UP TO YOUR ARRIVAL CAN I USE MY CHIMNEY AND WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO?
Do not use 24hrs before. Remove any ash, unburnt logs/coal/fuel if you can. Please remove any ornaments on the hearth and ensure I have enough space to work in, about 6 ft in front of the fireplace/appliance.
